The center has seven labs, occupying around 1500 square meter, with aspects covering new technologies in heavy metal clean production, heavy metal wastewater treatment, heavy metal solid waste treatment and resource recovery, control and simulation of flu




1. Public Analysis and Testing Laboratory

lysis and Testing Laboratory was equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and instruments such as Inductive Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer (ICP), Laser Confocal Raman Spectroscopy, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Scanning Electron Microscope, Ion Chromatography, Multichannel Electrochemical Workstation, Thermogravimetry Infrared Analyzer and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry.

Inductive Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer (ICP)


Scanning Electron Microscope  

    This equipment is mainly used for the investigation of surface morphology and element distribution, which could be widely applied for the area of material synthesis, metallurgical waste treatment and in situ mining.  


Laser Confocal Raman Spectroscopy

    The Laser Confocal Raman Spectroscopy is mainly applied for the investigation of bond binding status as well as the reaction mechanism during the physical transformation process.  


Thermogravimetry Infrared Analyzer  

   The Thermogravimetry Infrared Analyzer (Netzsch, STA449F3, German) is mainly applied for the investigation of material thermodynamic stability and decomposition. It can be applied for testing under oxidizing, reductive, and inert atmosphere. In addition, this equipment can combine with Infrared Spectrometric Analyzer (Bruker, TENSOR27, German).

2. Hydrometallurgy Pilot Lab.

Laboratory of new technologies in heavy metal clean production:    

The researches on high temperature processing of heavy metal solid wastes are performed in this laboratory, in order to improving valuable metal recovery, achieve efficient and innocuous treatment of waste residue and promote its comprehensive utilization.

3. Air Pollution Control Lab.

The researches on controlling and simulating flue gas pollution in non-ferrous metal metallurgy process are performed in this laboratory. Large-scale equipment, such as Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer, were equipped in order to investigate thermal stability and components of all kinds of smelting flue gas, and thermal decomposition mechanism of gaseous pollutant control materials.

4. Solid Waste Treatment Lab.

The researches on high temperature pretreatment of heavy metal solid wastes, and developing thermal stabilization and high temperature pretreatment process of solid wastes are performed in this laboratory.

5. Soil Remediation Lab.
      The researches on bioremediation and chemical remediation technologies of heavy metal contaminated soil in industries, such as mining, smelting and chemical industries, are performed in this laboratory.

6. Wastewater Treatment Lab.
The experimental researches on treating heavy metal wastewater are performed in this laboratory. Heavy metal wastewater treatment is priority, and  the advanced treatment of heavy metal wastewater using biological agents has achieved a huge success.

7. Environmental Biotechnology Lab.

    The researches on environmental biotechnology are performed in this laboratory, which mainly includes bioremediation of a) heavy metal contaminated wastewater, slag, and soil, b) organic and ammonia nitrogen wastewater.

8. TG-FTIR Lab.

    The TG-FTIR system is mainly used to research on thermal stability and composition of all kinds of metallurgical slags, ores and materials, to discover their thermal decomposition mechanism and to develop high temperature treatment process of all kinds of metallurgical slag.
